Special Committee for Expansion Joints
- The Special Committee for Expansion Joints (CPJC) was initially established to address the installation of bridge expansion joints.
Since no European standard covers installation, ASQPE developed its own conformity assessment framework for the installation of expansion joints (JdC), in compliance with the “SNFIJEES regulations for the qualification of personnel by Specialized Companies (ESJ).”
This voluntary quality initiative is essential due to the high level of technical expertise required for expansion joints. Proper installation requires specialized, qualified labor and appropriate equipment to ensure traffic safety and the structural integrity of the bridge or roadway.
This process certifies that the Specialized Company (ESJ) is technically competent, has the organizational structure and qualified operational staff required for its worksites, and possesses the necessary technical support and equipment.
- The Special Committee for Expansion Joints (CPJC) is also responsible for processing applications from manufacturers seeking a Factory Production Control (FPC) certificate for CE marking for the following expansion joints, in accordance with the ASQPE certification regulations:
-Expansion joints according to EAD 120111-00-0107
For both scopes (installation and CE marking), ASQPE is COFRAC-accredited for “Product and Service Certification” under accreditation No. 5-0043 (scope available at www.cofrac.fr).
